Shipashnice, part of Gjilan district (Kosovo), is a small community of 2000 (est.) family members, the Dermaku clan.
The team and I visited the village on several occasions, meeting the families informally before setting out a plan for how to document their stories. During interviewing we learned more than we could have anticipated. Kinship was born. Currently, in pre-production, the trailer sets out the stories that will be explored with funding in place.
We are still keen to hear from people who know about tribal clan-laws (Kanun) in Kosovo, who understand community life in Kosovo and others who wish to collaborate with us. Please see the Contact page on how to get in touch with us.
